ABOUT NATALIE GRACE

Natalie Grace is a London-born singer, songwriter and performer whose upbringing has shaped her music. Being brought up by two musicians who thrived in the 80s music scene, her love of soul music started early. Natalie Grace’s music takes the soulful, versatile vocals of those 80s divas and seamlessly blends it with the bass-driven grooves and riffs of those late 90s/early 00s R’n’B trailblazers, like Jojo and Joss Stone - resulting in a contemporary, fresh twist that will have anyone pulling a stank-face of appreciation. Drawing inspiration from iconic artists like Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, she developed a unique vocal style that effortlessly melds elements of pop, soul and R’n’B.

EXPERIENCE

From age 15, Natalie Grace has been the backing vocalist for 80’s Latin Pop band Modern Romance, who had hits from 1981 onwards, such as Best Years of Our Lives and Everybody Salsa. She performs with them at venues large and small across England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, including major festivals like Let’s Rock, Rewind Festival and Sunshine Fest. In the summer of 2019, she had the incredible opportunity to perform with the band at Chilfest, with a lineup that included the likes of Jocelyn Brown and Soul ll Soul. Whilst her ultimate goal is to be an independent solo artist and songwriter, performing at these gigs has given her invaluable industry experience and provided her with a great level of confidence and stage presence. Additionally, Natalie performs at function gigs, and does session work to support her artist journey, and gain as much industry experience as possible.

TEACHING

In 2019, Natalie Grace began teaching vocal lessons privately, which she has continued to do consistently. She gets a great sense of joy and fulfilment in watching others grow and develop vocally. Vocal lessons can be booked on the Booking tab of the website.

CURRENT DEVELOPMENTS

Natalie graduated from the British and Irish Modern Music Institute in London in 2021, with a first class honours degree in Music Performance (Vocals). During her degree, she began to start releasing her own music that she has been working on for many years, and today she is continuing to write and refine her own material for more future releases. Natalie has also been co-writing music with other songwriters, which will eventually be released under the other artists’ catalogues.

PURPOSE

Growing up, Natalie Grace has overcome adversities, with music having been the tool to aid her through hardships, including struggles with mental health and neurodivergency - something which is all too common in the music industry. She has been open on her social media about her struggles with ADHD, depression and anxiety, as she feels it is necessary in paving the way to erase the stigmas surrounding these issues. Through this, she has realised that her true purpose is to use her voice, openness and talents, to help others the way that artists have helped her, using her voice and words to make people feel less isolated, more understood and able to be more open.
